Post-Production Reflection

  • My group and I encountered a few problems in our post- production and editing. In this unit my group and I discovered some problems when we filmed our story. Our lighting and camera angles did not turn out how we wanted them too and so we resolved this problem by re- filming our scenes. Our group had a difficulty with a member of our group. We were not working well together as a group very well. We resolved this problem by taking to Mr Andrews and we started to try and include each other to make a magnificent film. Another problem we came across in this unit is when we had to present to the class our rough edit and ours did not seem to want to play. We resolved this problem by bringing in a saved copy of the movie and playing it to the class the next day. We then came across some technical difficulties when we tried to convert our movies... They were flickering and kept pausing simultaneously. We solved this problem by re- rendering our films and exporting them in another format with different settings (instructed by Mr Andrews).
  • My planning and research helped me to write and create my short story, treatment and story board greatly. If I had not planned my work then I think that my work would be messy and all over the place. I think I would not have been able to get across what I wanted to say through my story/treatment and story board if I had not planned and researched. The use of storyboards, shot lists and rough edits helped me alot in the editing process because he helped my group and I to stay on track and stay focused and organized.
  • Personally I believe I could have been more efficient with my time management. I think if I had spent longer polishing my edit I could have greatly approved my over all mark and outcome. I do however believe I didn't fall to behind.I improved in this area by getting ahead to begin with and always doing work if you have spare time.
  • I believe I made effective use of provided EDL templates and Sound Designs. They assisted me in editing and design making to a great extent and I regularly looked back at my work and revised my main goal/ idea.
  • I undertook adequate reflections but do believe that I could have made them a tiny bit more detailed even though they are generally detailed and long. I believe there are enough entries for a terms work and enough evidence to support my work if a situation was to arise.
  • I developed many skills, such as; Garageband, Final Cut Pro and a Video render (changes videos form one format to another). All these skills are handy and very useful.
  • I personally find the video very embarrassing (the scenes I am in) but I believe the story line, editing and camera angles are very good. I am happy with our film. We worked as a group very well.
  • I am very satisfied with my final result. Overall I think my group and I made a great film and all the long hours of work hopefully paid off.
  • I would like to fix a few aspects in our movie which for me is some scenes in our movie... For perfection but its to late now. I worked with what I had and hopefully made the best out of the film we filmed, which was very good footage.
  • If I could start again I would have rough knowledge on what my teacher expects of me and what time limits I have to go by. I would be able to produce a better film because I would have learnt from my mistakes. I would be more organized and work better in a team to make jobs easier and faster.
