Reflection & Evaluation- Term 2- Story Board & Film Treatment

  • In this unit my group and I discovered some problems when we filmed our story. Our lighting and camera angles did not turn out how we wanted them too and we a considering re- filming some scenes.
  • My planning and research helped me to write and create my short story, treatment and story board greatly. If I had not planned my work then I think that my work would be messy and all over the place. I think I would not have been able to get across what I wanted to say through my story/treatment and story board if I had not planned and researched different genres.
  • Activities in class helped me to plan and perfect my story board a lot. I did not completely understand what you had to include in your storyboard until we did some activities in class, so this helped me out greatly.
  • In the design process of this term. I did come across a few difficulties. When I was creating my story board, I made some mistakes drawing the directions onto it. I had to use white out to correct them. In the writing process I had no problems. I enjoy writing so this was a high light of the term for me.
  • I have learnt by completing this unit of work that if you get in early, get organized and be detailed you wont be rushed and stressed towards the due date of the piece of work. I have also remembered from last term that the angle and lighting in a film is critical to get the effect of the particular genre you want. I have developed the technique to write a film treatment.
Discuss your feelings about the pre-production task:

  • I am very happy with my final results I think all the hard work I put into my assignment pays off through my work.
  • I think I was organized and used my time effectively to create my story board and film treatment.
  • If I had time to redo my story board in terms of arrows and symbols showing the movement of the camera, I defiantly would.
  • If I could start again as I said above I would redo my story board in terms of symbols and showing the movement of the camera.
